BENEFITS OF CERAMIC COATING
A ceramic coating works as a protective layer for your car’s paint. As a liquid polymer, ceramic coatings bond to the paint and act as the first line of defense against scratches, dirt, and water. They typically have a resin or quartz base that uses nanotechnology to spread thinly across your car’s surface and fill in all the minuscule pores within the paint. Its liquid state evaporates quickly to leave a sheer outer layer.
When ceramic coating is applied on a car’s body, the polymer forms a chemical bonding with the factory paint. Once coated, it can only be removed by abrasion and not by any chemicals. If done correctly, ceramic coating can even last the lifetime of the car. A car with ceramic coating is also easier to clean. The body panels of a ceramic coated car will be smooth and free of abrasions. Such a surface offers no place for dirt to stick on to. Even if it does, a simple swipe with a clean cloth brings the car back to its radiant finish.
However, the most important step to apply a ceramic coating is not only the coating itself, also the correct preparation process. Usually a least a single stage paint correction is needed or for some case multiple stages of machine polish is required.
